The sames were originally hunters living in the northern part of Scandinavia, Finland and Russia. Their culture bears more similarity to that of the indigenous people of Greenland than the agricultural culture of the rest of Scndinavia. Unlike the Nordic art, the Same art did not start developing until the 16th century.
