A pictorial narrative documenting the process of building the momentuous Øresund Bridge, linking Sweden with Denmark, and establishing a “United” Europe. Photographer Saxgren has received several international awards for his photos, as he has an ability to capture what is beautiful in the repugnant and to create a fusion of elements that cannot really be united. Though these photos document the physical construction of this bridge, they allude to its metaphoric significance, creating a synthesis in the hope that it will foster greater communication, rather than confrontation between Sweden and Denmark.
