ANDERSEN, MORTEN: OSLO F..

Author: Andersen, Morten

A book published by a young photographer himself, which is impressive enough. But it’s the third book of Morten Andersen and his style is developing fast. It’s a book about the streets of Oslo with the old buildings and stairways of the 19th century, a book about friends and the walk from the studio back home. Author: Aschengreen, Erik
Year: 2005
Country or State of Origin: Denmark

Here is the story of a ballet-master, 1905-71, who is an extremely important figure in ballet’s history. In the 19 years he was a ballet master (1932-51), with due consideration for the Bournonville heritage - changed the training basis for the dancers in the direction of the Russian-academic technique and created a whole new repertpoire of his own ballets around soloists like Margot Lander and Byrge Ralov, culminating in Études to music by Knud Åge Rüsager in 1948. The book also discusses his controversial persona in Danish ballet for his immoral behavior towards the young female dancers he trained.
