The founding of the porcelain factory in Copenhagen in 1775 came as the result of experiments made by Frantz Henrich Muller, a chemist, in the years 1772-1774. Using raw materials from among other places Bornholm, Muller had managed to produce genuine, hard-paste porcelain.
