Wilhem Kåge was a pioneer on the impact of Swedish ceramics. After serving as an art director for Gustavsberg, in 1942 he started the Gustavsberg studio with the passion to create unique art pieces. Kåge, the craftsman started as a painter and graphic designer of posters in the early 1900s in Stockholm. In 1917 he began working at Gustavsberg’s porcelain factory. Kåge is known as an industrial designer, potter, and master of stoneware and porcelain and among his many unique designs, he developed the Argenta series with inlaid silver all under the umbrella of the Gustavsberg factory.
