Høyer, Steen: LANDSKABSKUNST.

Author: Levinsen, Marianne, Rikke Munck Petersen, Steen Bisgaard, eds et al
Year: 2006
Country or State of Origin: Denmark

Høyer has produced a remarkable body of work, brought together here in its full scope for the first time. The built work, such as the mound of lights at Esbjerg, is well known. His built landscapes, proposals, installations, drawings, photographs, montages, and models - all are threads in the same fabric of investigation. Drawing from methods of art and design, he explores questions about the nature of space and mind and the processes, human and non-human, that shape both. There is an emerging international discussion on the practice of art and design as a form of research. This volume is a superb contribution to that global dialogue.

KØBENHAVN I HAVER OG PARKER (Gardens and Parks in Copenhagen) .

Author: Peter Olesen
Year: 1993
Country or State of Origin: Denmark

The gorgeous gardens and parks are beautifully illustrated in this wonderful publication. A map in front of the book is a guide so you may find your way around the Copenhagen area to see all these gardens and parks firsthand--from the formal gardens by Rosenborg Castle to the casual natural parks, which make one feel that one is far outside the city. The incorporation of fountains, waterfalls, sculpture and murals is done in exquisite taste. The lush colors of an abundance of perrenials decorate Tivoli. Arbors and alles go back several hundred years in landscape architecture, forming an entrance to the castle or manor house, often covered in wisteria or roses, offering a very different impression in the summer from the winter. This books also shows private gardens, cemeteries, outdoor restaurants, garden pavilions, etc.
